MXlu - Motif-style Directory User Interface

MXLU (Motif/X LookUp) is an X.500 DUA interface for the X Window System. The interface can be configured for many different styles of interaction. Example configurations are provided for single window and multiple window use. Features include:

• User-Friendly Name (UFN) searching
• Forms-mode searching
• Interruptable searches
• Progress reporting
• Browse operations
• Very flexible configuration
• Add and modify functions
• Can be configured as a bibliographic search tool for ABDUX

Caveats and general limitations

Does not support modification of all known attribute syntaxes. In particular, ACLs and O/R addresses are not catered for.

• UNIX
• Motif 1.2.1 or higher
• ISODE/QUIPU (version 8.0 or higher)

Availability

Sources are freely available for commercial or non-commercial use. Binaries for SunOs 4.1.3 and Solaris 2.3 (5.5MB) are also available from Brunel, to simplify installation on sites that do not already use ISODE.
