Hi,

I would like to move Zenoss 3.2.2 to Zenoss 4.2.5. I need to export monitored devices from Zenoss 3.2.2 and import them to Zenoss 4.2.5. I noticed that version 3.2.2 does not provide the zenbatchdump command.
Is there a way to export monitored devices from version 3.2.2 and import them to the  version 4.2.5?

thanks
David

Davide,

You may be able to copy the zenbatchdump script and the underlying BatchDeviceDumper.py files from your 4.2.5 instance to your older 3.2.2 instance.

If they give you any trouble, please include the output in a follow-up to this message?

I've been here.  The problem is that some things changed between Zenoss 3 and Zenoss4.  I modified the BatchDeviceDumper.py from a Zenoss 4 so that it works with Zenoss 3 (see the "JC" comments).  You are welcome to a copy - no guarantees, as ever ;)

Sorry - the forum won't let me upload a Python file.  Send me email and I'll send you a copy.

Cheers,

Jane
