I did some investigation, and I can confirm that the zenhubpinginterval *is* to ping ZenHub only, and not to control the ping cycle on devices. Near as I can tell, there's no way within the Zenoss user interface to change that value...all we can do now is attach to the Docker instance and modify a config file directly to change the ping poll value any longer. I didn't dig too deep into which file needs to be modified, as any internal configuration file will be overwritten at the next upgrade anyway, kind of rendering the exercise moot, hey?

OK - so it is confirmed that the manual is incorrect and that zenhubping interval in zenping.conf is nothing to do with how frequently the zenping daemon pings each target system - thanks Jason! I have logged this in JIRA as
https://jira.zenoss.com/browse/ZEN-31276 With thanks to Ryan, the way to change the ping cycle time, select ADVANCED -> Control Center -> <name of collector, eg. localhost>. Do not expand the collector name to show its daemons but select the collector itself. The bottom panel with the "Details" dropdown then shows various parameters and cycle times, including the ping cycle time which still defaults to 60 seconds. These parameters can be modified and "Saved".
Cheers,
Jane

Well, how about that! So *that's* where that was moved to. Thanks, Jane!
