Apologies in advance if this has already been asked and answered elsewhere. Unable to see anything when searching.
I have the issue of a bunch of devices that have been added to the new platform, and hoping there is an easier way to updated.
Unfortunately the Hardware Model needs updating as the "Device Name / OID table" appears as .1.3.6.1.4.1.9.1.1208
Said device type - Catalyst 29xxStack
The only way how I can see to resolve this is:
- Update the OID based hardware model by changing Vendor to Unknown
- Update Product Name from IOD to correct Model name .1.3.6.1.4.1.9.1.1208 = Catalyst 29xxStack
- Wait till overnight ZenMagic, or manually remodel nodes for correct Device Name to appear (and thus update our integrated CMDb)
This above case is for 103 routers and I have other device models to update also.
I can see we will hit this hurdle every time a new hardware type is discovered on the network.
Unfortunately we don't have the luxury of knowing in advance the hardware types being added to the network until we get the surprise.
