I posted the other day about issues around accessing Control Center after deploying Zenoss Core 5.2.1 using the official .ova. Happily I resolved that issue, but I'm now faced with further pain*frown*

After following the guides I came to the point to start Zenoss.core. This fails completely - not a single one of the services starts. The serviced service is running fine. Here's some error messages I found in /var/log/messages:

Feb 20 09:41:36 core-master serviced: time="2017-02-20T09:41:36Z" level=warning msg="Could not select host" error="no authenticated hosts found" instanceid=0 location="servicestate.go:279" logger=zzk.service serviceid=d31wpnf5mik6niwdeu6u2iqmt servicename=zenperfsnmp shouldhaveaddressassignment=false

These are just constantly coming in to the log.

I'm also attaching a screenshot of my Control Center console to show the status of Zenoss.core.

FYI - This also worked for me. My install was brand new, none of the zenoss.core services would start. On the hosts tab the host had a red exclamation mark by its name which was for authenticated.  Deleting the host from the pool and re-adding it fixed the issue

The command they have listed in the documentation is missing the "--register" option. This is needed to setup authentication keys, even for the same host.

--register was it for me.

Thanks

I also found that adding the host from the control center UI to the resource pool should allow the services to work right away on versions 6.1.1 and 6.1.2 so i'd assume its the same for previous versions?
