both backup and restore in control center now just shows this error message and does nothing.
cli shows the same error:
# serviced backup /opt/serviced/var/backups/
archive/tar: invalid tar header
#
any workaround thanks!

Johnshen64,
I just joined Zenoss as the new Community Engineer/Manager. I will check on this reply back.
Meantime, be sure to check out and updatethe latest version which today is Zenoss Core 5.1.4. I will also be updating the download and instructions page on the Wiki a bit this month so the information flows a better for everyone looking to work with the latest Zenoss Core.

Did you delete the hosts If the hosts have changed since the backup was made you made need to delete the hosts. let the back up add them and then remove and readd then into CC.
