I have configured the SMTP correctly and able to receive email when do Test at the User configuration tab.
However, there is no email notification when critical event trigger.

I have set the trigger to trigger for any Critical event and Notification has been created on this trigger.

Any idea how should I troubleshoot on this Any log that I can refer to

Leekk,

What version of Zenoss are you running I'm betting it's 4.2.3 or earlier. I would suggest installing the official mysql-shared-compat to fix the mysql dependency issue, and updating to 4.2.5 (and the latest zenup) to resolve your issue.

Trelane,

I am using Zenoss 4.2.5.
I have installed the official mysql-shared-compat according to the installation guide, and also install latest zenup according to the guide.

How I can install back the postfix now Is postfix needed to have the notification I can receive email when test the email at the user tab.

To get e-mail notifications working, either enable postfix or edit the e-mail server settings under Advanced.

Make sure that your "From address for emails" under ADVANCED -> Setttings is valid. You shouldn't need postfix installed. zenactiond.log is saying it successfully sent your email but your mail server may reject it if zenoss sends it from what your email server considers to be an "illegal" sender.
Cheers,
Jane
