The free version is called Zenoss Community Edition and was previously called Zenoss Core. (Some of us still call it Zenoss Core, and I'll do so here.)
If you already have the Core .ova running and the Zenoss.core application is deployed, you're ready to go. You should be able to click the URLs listed in the Public Endpoints column to reach the Zenoss Core UI. Note, you may need to add a DNS or hosts file entry for the name to resolve. The FQDN for your Core URL should resolve to the same IP address as your Control Center host (the machine running the .ova).
The commercial versions of Zenoss (Resource Manager and Zenoss Cloud) provide some additional features over Zenoss Core (see the attached .pdf).

Thanks Michael,
actually the public endpoints for the Zenoss Core do not load so I will check and try to fix it.
My main idea is to get data via available API mainly for events, metrics and topology (lets say hosts at least) so I thought these data comes from the Resource Manager, or am I mistaken?
Because in Control Center I do not see any of these types of data - in CC I see only Application and Host info (menu tabs).

Can you guys please advise how to get the Resource manager - preferrably gettin an .ova file (as Zenoss Core).
Thanks in advance.

Seems that all services have been started but still none of the Public Endpoints are working/loading. I want to reach the Zenoss Core UI but it unreachable because of the endpoint problem
I also added 2 entries in the /etc/hosts matching the Zenoss.core FQDN and the Control Center host.
CC host is: vtzenoss01.zigiwave.lab with IP 10.34.20.64 Following the instructions:The following line shows the syntax of the entry to add to a name resolution file:IP-Address FQDN Hostname zenoss5.Hostnameso I add these 2 entries at the bottom, are they correct ?:
127.0.0.1 localhost localhost.localdomain localhost4 localhost4.localdomain4
::1 localhost localhost.localdomain localhost6 localhost6.localdomain6
192.168.93.197 core-master
192.168.93.197 cc.core-master
fe80::20c:29ff:fe56:3abe core-master
fe80::20c:29ff:fe56:3abe cc.core-master
10.34.20.64 vtzenoss01
10.34.20.64 cc.vtzenoss01
fe80::16aa:5d5a:ce80:20f0 vtzenoss01
fe80::16aa:5d5a:ce80:20f0 cc.vtzenoss01
10.34.20.64 zenoss5.vtzenoss01.zigiwave.lab vtzenoss01.zigiwave.lab zenoss5.vtzenoss01.zigiwave.lab
10.34.20.64 zenoss.vtzenoss01.zigiwave.lab vtzenoss01.zigiwave.lab zenoss5.vtzenoss01.zigiwave.lab
*I also tried without the domain part "zigiwave.lab" at the end...but the results are the same
Can you please advise what can we try to solve the endpoint issues.
Thanks.

Stefan,
I'll take these in order:
I thought these data comes from the Resource Manager, or am I mistaken? Because in Control Center I do not see any of these types of data - in CC I see only Application and Host info (menu tabs).
Correct. Control Center's role is to manage the Docker containers that make up the Zenoss Core / Zenoss Resource Manager applications. Once Zenoss Core is monitoring your devices (server, network, etc.), it can provide the type of information you're looking for.
so I add these 2 entries at the bottom, are they correct ?
It looks like those are the host entries from the Control Center master. If you want to reach the zenoss
or zenoss5
vhosts from your computer, you'll need to add those last two lines to the hosts file on your computer. The instructions on how to do so will vary depending on your OS, but are easily googled. Let us know how things look once you get that sorted?

Finally the Core UI loaded via port public endpoint.
Just started getting around the UI and have some difficulties regarding the metrics.
Can you please take a look if you dont mind:
