Subject: I think that this build

I think that this build process was really only for Zenoss employees! It says that it is based on docker 1.5 whereas the current version of Zenoss is based on 1.9. When Zenoss released Zenoss 5.1, they withdrew support for Ubuntu - we only have RedHat / CentOS now.

If you are trying to get a virtual machine to run the latest Zenoss, I know Zenoss are working on a VMware ova distribution to ship the latest version, all configured and ready to go. If this would solve your problem, please respond here.

John Boyle (Zenoss community manager) - are we ready to go with this yet

Cheers,

Jane

One of the big differences between Zenoss 4 and Zenoss 5 is the hardware requirements - you really do need 20GB RAM and 4 CPUs if you want to go with Zenoss 5. That is why many people are staying with Zenoss 4.

I am running a VM with Zenoss 4.2.5 with the latest patch (SUP 671) on a 2 CPU, 6GB of RAM - I am managing about 90 devices.

How many devices of what type are you trying to manage

Cheers,

Jane

The link to the Zenoss 4.2.5 virtual machine has now been restored (thanks John!).

https://sourceforge.net/projects/zenoss/files/zenoss-4.2/zenoss-4.2.5/zenoss_core-4.2.5-2108-x86_64.vmware.zip/download

Hopefully there will soon be a link to a VM for Zenoss 5.1.8 too.

Cheers,

Jane
