No graph data for Linux Server devices

I have installed Zenoss (Core 5.1.5) using the auto deploy script onto Centos 7, I have configured the servers (in my network) to monitor so that they can repsond to SNMP and are showing in the main events as being up or down.

The problem I have now is that the graphs are showing, but the metric values are N/A. I have added the devices to the \Server\Linux device class.

I'm not sure on the steps I need to take to debug this problem, as far as I can see the firewall for SNMP is open and the server in question gives a status for being UP. So I woudl have thought the SNMP woudl communicate the perf stats (mem, cpu etc) as well. Or have I misunderstood

Thanks

James

I believe netsnmp is installed on the server. If yes can you please do amanual snmpwalk by attaching to zenperfsnmp container and see if snmpwalk is timing out or not

If you navigate to the main page for one of your SNMP devices in the Zenoss GUI, at the bottom of the left-hand menu is a Commands link which has an snmpwalk option. That will do a basic snmp test to the device, using the SNMP Configuration properties that are configured into Zenoss for that device.

If that fails, then your SNMP is not setup correctly.

Another thing to look for is whether your devices under /Server/Linux have any components in the left-hand menus - interfaces, filesystems, processes, ... If not, it suggests that SNMP is broken as these components are gathered by the standard SNMP-based modeler plugins.

The first thing I would do is check the version of SNMP that your devices are using and the community name being used (for SNMP v1 and v2c). If the community name is wrong, you won't get any answers.

Cheers,

Jane
