Subject: | Google Map problem |

I have core 5 installed with latest patch release. I do have my API key in and I have added approx 25 locations with success. In other words, each location maps properly as expected with no devices assigned to each location. The moment I start adding devices to a location, the map goes blank or empty. I still see all my locations and if I change the map from root (/) to a defined location, I still see the map change to that location but my root view is gone. I have tried not adding systems and groups thinking it may be related. I also reinstalled a few times but cannot understand why I loose my root view which worked fine in 4.2.5.
Does anyone have any idea what I am doing wrong or why this is happening Having the device map was great to track site availability and Internet outage type activity but I am at a loss as to what is going on. Thank you in advance if anyone has a fix for this ...

Maps work for me, you might want to make sure that the locations you're putting in work in google maps. Also make sure that your ACL for your API key works.

API is fine as are addresses. If I add no devices, they all map fine. As each is added, I check and the usual rendering message displays. Once I start adding devices to location, then the rendering popup stops and maps are "blank".
Addresses work as if I select any location, the map displays that location fine. Anyone have any idea why the rendering just does not work anymore going into the dashboard
I did 3 installations from scratch and they all did the same thing so confident this is not just me ... I cleared google cache - did nothing. I removed and added the google porlet, nothing - just does not render anymore.

Suppose I will wait for a fix ... appears tp be java related in code when maps stop rendering

there's also an updated Dashboard ZP on the wiki, you might try installing it.

Thank you Andrew for the heads up on the dashboard release. I downloaded and applied it but unfortunately did not resolve issue. I am looking to add some other ZP as well.
Maps work if you view each location - just not all at once and the rendering screen has disappeared as well. I have 35 locations so perhaps that is the cause - to many It worked OK in 4.25 is all. Thank you for checking in on this issue.

Hey,
I have the same problem.
Here is the error I get when running zopectl in the foreground:

The same error occurs when running "dmd.Locations.getChildLinks()" in zendmd.
Trying to further investigate...
Currently this is blocking for us and we can not move forward with our implementation until this has been resolved.
Will let you know what I can figure out here.
Edit: I've created a bug report for this issue: https://jira.zenoss.com/browse/ZEN-17475

Hi INOCsolutions
yes, problem still exists where the rendering has stopped as per above. I am moving forward with adding devices to locations regardless. The Google porlet remains without any locations displaying and does not render on access. Individual locations if manually selected using the "gear" within the porlet work - just not on the / root map. Will keep looking for the answer and will update if I come across anything.
