With zenoss 4 and earlier, we had zenup patch utility that eases upgrade path.
But with zenoss 5, and a docker image being released, how is the periodic upgrade path designed
Would customer installations on top of zenoss 5 docker image be retained after a upgrade
How is zenoss planning to release periodic updates, as a docker image or a diff patch
Any pointers/inputs would be appreciated to understand the upgrade path on zenoss 5.

The upgrade functionality is being built into Control Center, and upgrades will be handled there. There are going to be some caveats with things like editing config files, but those will be explained in the Control Center/5.x docs. These are caveats though, not roadblocks, so as long as you aren't making major modifications to the underlying code, you should be fine.
