I am busy installing Zenoss core 4.2.5 on Centos 6.5 using the manual install as per the Zenoss CoreInstallation and Upgrade
Release 4.2.5 guide.

Everything went fine until I tried to install the latest RPS and it failed with this non descriptive error:

[zenoss@demo ~]$ zenup install zenoss_core-4.2.4-SP464.zup
WARNING: You will not be able to downgrade after installing this zup. Press ENTER to continue or to quit.

Install Steps:
1) Non-Destructive Pre-Install Steps:

3) File Patching:
A) Lay down changes (File Patching)
4) Post-Install Steps:

You shouldn't need to roll back given what you posted above, just install the zup with ZenUp 1.0
