Recently I built a new VM with 4.2.5 Core to replace an old collector. My Zenoss knowledge is pretty limited. So I referred a few online references to help with setting it up.. made me a bit confused lol.... Although I could able to setup and configure the new VM as collector, I don't understand why there are some differences compared to what other collectors in my env have and the references I referred. So I thought seek some help here to understand it.
How a collector is difference than a distributed collector? I think we have just collectors and not distributed ones. How do I confirm if that's the case? The Render url maybe depends on the type of collector? On my collectors, it's the http://collecor-name:8091
I do have the distributed collector Zenpack installed on the master. But I'm confused about ... "Add Monitor" and "Add Remote Monitor". What's the difference here?
I had to copy the devices performance data from the old collector to the new one.
