zenoss core - cant delete custom properties

Iset up a new custom property and messed up on the value type. So now I have a custom property for a windows device and it can't get it to delete. I have logged on under admin as well as my user id. Both present the "Delete Local Property" confirmation box and I click OK and the property remains. Is this a bug or am I missinging somehting regarding deleting once of these
