While searching for a Monitoring of Monitors type system, someone pointed me towards Zenoss.
I am looking for a system that provides at a minimum the ability to display to operation teams a stream of events, with rules that allow the events to be color coded for priority, etc. and which would allow an operations staff member to invoke for any particular event the browsing of operations documentation for the event, or the application, or general operations information, initiate incident tickets with minimal manual intervention.
I have viewed several of the zenoss videos, and I see presentations discussing features that appear to be higher level functions, such as correlation of events into incidents, and predictive analytics.
However, I am uncertain whether the terminology that I hear from the operations team about their job, and the terminology being used by zenoss, are speaking the same level of information. Currently operations team monitor basic functionality, with expectations that system administrators willmonitor additionalfunctionality as necessary.
Is there a basic "intro to zenoss" that is not what I call "glossy presentation" but an introduction that covers terminology and the basic funtional activity of the system
Thank you
