Subject: | Zenoss Desktop App like Nagstamon |

Hi Everyone,
We're probably switching to Zenoss after using Nagios for the last 4 years. Zenoss seems to be yielding better results so far, but we use Nagstamon for alerts on our desktop without having to keep the website open all the time. We get a flashing window, status of critical and warnings, and an audible alarm. Plus we can acknowledge straight from the app.
I see that there is a Zenstamon app, but it hasn't been touched in a few years, and I can't get it to work with Zenoss 5. No matter what I do, it won't log in.
This and no audible alerts in the web GUI means we have no way of knowing when an alert fires, if we don't want to fill our email up all the time.
This is a pretty major hole in a monitoring application. We're a two man shop handling about 250 servers plus daily operations. There has to be a better answer for this. Any ideas Thanks.

Many IT Operations are using a Raspi monitor that runs on an LCD screen constantly. Simply configure a raspi to boot directly to a web browser that logs into the console. As far as audio, you can whack something together to play audio on a raspi as well.
I also hacked together a "stoplight" which turned Yellow when there was an Severity 4 event, and red when there was a Severity 5 event in about half an hour using a raspberry pi. This is great for a quick visual glance.
