Hi,

I am facing problem with Zenoss 5 server it is not working at all and I am completely lost how to recover it.

Environment;Zenoss Version: 5.0.5;OS: CentOS 7 x64;Hardware: VMware VM v11

The issue started about a week a ago I was getting high CPU utilization alert, last Thursday I decided to restart the Zenoss VM and see if it presist.

I restarted via 'vSphere Web - Shutdown Guest OS' feature. I took sometime but did shutdown.

After power on, the server starts up normally and takes me to CLI login. But neither ControlCenter or Zenoss web portal work.

I restarted the VM couple of time to see if it recovers but no result.

I suspected that may be it did not properly shutdown causing this problem.

So browsed arround and found following article, checked few problem listed there still no go.

https://support.zenoss.com/hc/en-us/articles/204643769-How-to-Recover-Control-Center-from-Hardware-Failure

From what I can tell CentOS is loading properly I see no error msgs. But I am not sure how to check ControlCenter whether it is loading properly or are there any errors. I need help in troubleshooting or what other options I have.

Check logs of Docker: journalctl -u docker -l -n 100 Control center: journalctl -u serviced -l -n 100

Devops Monitoring Expert advice: Dockerize/automate/monitor all the things.

DevOps stack: Docker / Kubernetes / Mesos / Zabbix / Zenoss / Grafana / Puppet / Ansible / Vagrant / Terraform / Elasticsearch
