In old versions of Zenoss you could create your own dashboard filtering on the events that you want to see. This feature seems to have been removed but filtering via the Event Console doesn't work. If I filter using the Event Class for example this works but I can not close or acknowledge any of the events. Instead I have to clear the filter then perform the action I want and then put the filter back on which seems counter productive.
Is there a way to get the old dashboard filtering capability back within Zenoss 4.2.5 which I'm currently using I need to filter on Event Class and Component mainly.
Cheers

This isn't the way it works for me on Zenoss 4.2.5 with SUP 457 installed. If I set a filter in the event console, then I can close events from the filtered selection.
Have you done anything spooky with roles in your environment

That's a good point I have gone into Zport/Manage but as a manager I have all but take ownership. Would you happen to know what right might cause this or be able to provide a screenshot of what options you have set for Manager / ZenManager just in case

It's unlikely (I hope) that anyone has been modifying Manager or ZenManager roles. If your issue is when you are loggedon with either of these, then it is unlikely to be a roles issue.
Manage Events is the permission that you need to Close / Ack an event and, by default, it looks like all roles other than ZenUser should have that.
