With both Ping and SNMP enabled, once Ping is down (and consequently Device Status down too) Zenoss stops getting any SNMP/command events anymore.

This is what I have done to test this:

  1. Enable Ping monitoring for monitored device
  2. Enable SNMP monitoring for monitored device
  3. Enable a specific Nagios plug-in command for monitored device
  4. Drop ICMP packets with IPTables @ monitored device
  5. Stop SNMP service @ monitored device

After that:

But I was expecting:

This makesSNMP/command monitoring useless when Ping is not available (and we need it this way).

What should I change to get this working for us I am able to modify the source code if pointed in the right direction.

Zenoss Core v5.0.5 here.

Thanks in advance :)

Update:I think I have finally found what I was looking for. A boolean, it seems.

Not really. self.pauseUnreachableDevices = False was what I was looking for, but did not find at all. I had to define it within the SnmpPerformanceCollectionPreferences class itself.
