If I stop and start zenoss 5 application, it is ok for a while, and this alert start all over again.

I wonder how I should go about troubleshooting the root cause of this or otherwise work around it, short of reinstaling zenoss 5.

thanks!

another thing is that in the process list of 19, only Zope (1), zenjmx (2), and zeneventserver (4) has any process listed, with all others being 0, yet those listed as 0 did not alert. is that normal

Any chance you found a resolution for this If I change the heartbeat to not be monitored it when it remodels it is rediscovered and after a period I start getting the same error..

How are you getting these errors The underlying CC running Zenoss is self-monitoring, so there's no need to add it to Zenoss.

Trelane,

This is default out of the box. Sometimes it exists under the OS Process's and some remodels it doesn't. So the remodel is looking for the OS process and it seems sometimes it's there and sometimes it isn't.

I didn't mention how I was receiving the errors. I am receiving the error through standard Event errors from OS Components. Simple up/down service.
