Zenoss integration to Slack

I would like to integrate Zenoss Core 5 to push notifications to our Slack channel as well as getting email notifications.
I found a python script from ssplatt for version 4.2.5 https://github.com/ssplatt/slack-zenoss

I am confused in trying to find out which is the correct docker container and directory to place the script in. Would someone be able to point me in the right direction

Also wondering if this is even the best practice for pushing notifications out to Slack.
