The spamhaus zen list is known for being pretty accurate. I suggest an admin have a look at this to ensure the listed mail server is not compromised somehow.
And it would be nice to be able to receive the activation email, fortunately can use the forums without it.
Here's a maillog snippet that shows what happened:
NOQUEUE: reject: RCPT from ec2-23-22-28-219.compute-1.amazonaws.com[23.22.28.219]: 554 Service unavailable; Client host [23.22.28.219] blocked using zdo74m4zhb35zp5dzpwckpagom.zen.dq.spamhaus.net; http://www.spamhaus.org/query/blip=23.22.28.219; from=<mediawiki@wiki.zenoss.org> to=

We are not listed as a spam source, we're listed in the Policy Black List. Amazon wants all AWS customers to send SMTP through their servers. Since the e-mail we send contains passwords for the Wiki we're unwilling to do this. It is a severely BAD idea to block on a PBL (other examples includes SORBS DUHL. I suggest instead using any PBL only hits (they should return a distinct response) as only one factor in blocking spam.

Amazon has no trouble with you sending your own mail, I do it from several AWS hosts none of which are on the spamhaus PBL..... AWS will even change the reverse DNS to a name of your choice. Do that and you should be able to get off spamhaus PBL.

The last time I went round and round with Spamhaus on this I was told there was no way out. I have IT submit a request for a PTR record and see if that helps with the issue.
