Hello,
I keep getting alert for High unknown Utilization. The numbers in the alerts are crazy. I have gigabit procurve switches with 10gbit trunks. Often the alerts are way beyond the capabilities of the hardware
Event Class: /Perf/Interface
Status: New
Message: High Unknown Utilization on interface Trk1: Currently (131.00 Gbps) or 13100273474178.67% is being used
These are showing up multiple times throughout the day.
What can i do to get rid of there "false" alerts
regards
Jacob

Hi,
So the easy way would be to use Count, and not accept until more than x count notifications come through, but this isn't covering the issue that the switch may be sending out bad data via SNMP. You may need to take a close look at the OID related to the Trk1 interface and confirm that it's supplying valid data.
You can use wireshark to watch Zenoss, or dump the output of snmpget to a file for a few days and see if there's abnormality.
