You can add an "Object Watch List" by going to "Add Portlet" and selecting the specific classes of Devices you want to see events for. Once you have your Object Watch List simply add the chunks of device tree you're interested in to the list. You will then get a summary for each type of device.

I really don't understand why this feature was removed. It makes no sense.
Zenoss takes a device-centric view of the environment but not everybody is interested in events organised by device. Event Views give specific users and groups the ability to create a dashboard showing only the events which mattered to them.
It's impossible to recreate an Event View using a saved Event Console as regexes can't be used in the search fields.
