Subject: | Monitor AWS RabbitMQ using hostname not IP |
Author: | [Not Specified] |

Hi,
We run RabbitMQ services (which uses 'hostname only' by design) on 4 servers within our AWS environment.
We have no AWS internal DNS service (Route 53) so the Rabbit Cluster can only communicate on hostname.
Zenoss will try and model the RabbitMQ service but fails to find the node due to it using the IP of the server rather than the hostname.
Rabbit doesn't listen on the IP and hence the failure.
Is there any way to have Zenoss use the hostname from the Rabbit modeler plugin
Any help would be appreciated.
Steve
