zenoss 4.2.4 Network map

hi all,

need some clarification about the network map is internet access required for the network map functionality to work

I understand that the google maps portlet would need it, but the network map is meant for layer 3 link discovery.

When I click on the network map, I dont even get the UI overlay that I've seen in the screenshots. I just get a grey bar in the center of the screen, like a load bar.

Right clicking indicates that flash has loaded, this happens on any browser.

If this functionality needs internet access, then it would be good to know so I can stop chasing things that dont exist
