Subject: | Zenoss 4.2.5 zenmail issue getting notifications from TheForeman |

Some versions of TheForeman ago I had it generating an e-mail (as it doesn't offer traps for some reason) when a puppet client generated an error report. This e-mail was consumed by zenmail and generated a Zenoss event we could then manage like our other monitored alerts etc.
Unfortunately, it has stopped working. Zenmail generally does work, the python test script functioned from another linux computer to the zenoss server just fine.
However, on the foreman server, in /var/log/maillog when it tries to generate an e-mail alert, I'm getting continuous:
did not issue MAIL/EXPN/VRFY/ETRN during connection to MTA
I've tried a couple configs on the foreman side of things. I'm not sure how to proceed - can zenmail accept direct mail from sendmail Does anyone have any experience hooking these systems together Is there an obvious sendmail solution here to get it to ... actually send the mail

You expect Sendmail to send mail WHAT IS THIS VOODOO!
I suspect an interop issue between TheForeman and Sendmail. I would also suggest attempting to fix this as it may be a larger underlying sendmail problem.
Zenmail is a basic MTA, and can accept SMTP (RFC 822) traffic, all mail it receives is processed by Zenoss.
