It looks like you responded directly to me instead of posting. Can you post it here? This way others can benefit in the future. I'm sure that you're not the first user with this issue. The forum is a way to help improve Zenoss documentation. Also, what version of Zenoss are you running?

After a little more research and from your initial reply, I noticed that DNS monitor was not a zenpack that was on my installed list. I am check on VMWare ESX monitoring and it said this was also to be included in Core, but is not on my list. I used the VMware 6.1.2 .ova to install my Zenoss appliance, so maybe this was the problem?
I opened the link you provided for HttpMonitor and it did show two links where to download the applicalbe file and that is what I am referencing when I cannot find where to download a specific zenpack. Maybe since these were to be included in Core I could not download them directly?
I am currently on Zenoss 6.1.2 r132.

Thanks. DNS Monitor ZP only works with 4.x and 5.x. It doesn't work with 6. Look at the "Prerequisites" section in the ZP page. I went through the same thing myself when going from 4 to 6.

Thank you, that is something I had overlooked. With that said and looking at a lot of the other zenpacks, there is very limited compatibility with v6. The version I am running currently in prod, Zenoss 5.0.7, seems to be better suited for what I am monitoring in our data center. I may just have to stay where I am and clean it up.

Hi Tony
Maybe a nagios plugin could also fit, as an example
check_dns.pl. A lot has changed since 5.0.7 and I think thinking/planning to go to a later version is not wrong specially if you need support. But of course it depends on your environment and strategy.
