Hi,
I'm about to migrate from Zenoss 3 to Zenoss 5 so this is going to result in a lot of reworking of our templates/zenpacks etc.. I need to completely rewrite a lot of alerting rules and then deploy them to about 10 different servers. Does anyone know of a way to export the new alerting rules/triggers or how to add them to a zenpack

In Zenoss 3 alerting rules are attached to individual users. There isn't a (native) way of exporting them or adding them to a ZenPack. Someone may have some wizardry though.

Don't really have what you want but I have got some audit scripts that at least help you dump alerting rules (from Zenoss 3) and triggers / notifications (from Zenoss >3) to flat files so you can then scan what you have.
You can get the audit package from github at https://github.com/jcurry/Audit
You can create triggers and notifications in a ZenPack under the zep directory but haven't tried this as a migration option - see http://wiki.zenoss.org/Providing_Triggers_Notifications_and_Event_Detail... .

Well, i had a zenoss 5 that was born as 5.0 and was updated up to 5.0.3 with MANY issues, so i decided to start fresh on 5.0.4.
I see no way to export/import that, so i just took screenshots... i have basic stuff only, tho.
