Metrics collection not working when we run zenpython in background (ie: zenpython start). But when we run zenpython in foreground ie: zenpython run -d 10.30.30.1 -v10 my rrd gets updated and i can able to get graphs and events in my zen dashboard. but when i run as service my rrd not gets updated but i can able to see my zenpython logs (/opt/zenoss/log/zenpython.log ) as below . It means its shows as metrics got collected successfully.. but still i dont see any changes in ui and last modified time in the rrd files (/opt/zenoss/perf/Devices/10.30.30.1)

Note:
1. we have tried more than 3 zenpacks all has the same issue
2. Zenoss version 4.2.5

ZenPython was leveraged heavily in the new Windows ZP. This means that we're finding and fixing a lot of bugs. Updating it requires downloading it from the ZenPack Directory (wiki.zenoss.org), and installing it from the CLI with zenpack --install

a quick report on this, yes Jane, it needed a complete restart. But even after the restart, it took quite long to actually get data again. The SNMP collection starts immediately, zenpython sometimes take 30 min and even more to collect something.
Truly said, we have had numerous issues with Windows monitoring, probably due to the over-complexity of WinRM, Zenpython, Windows policies, courageous Windows admins, etc. We are considering moving away to nsclient and a new zenpack around it. Simpler, less features, less pain. Not sure yet if we can publish the zenpack, will try to get the ok from my customer.
