I have successfully added SSH clients and they are modeled fine
I set the snmp settings on the zenoss server to SNMP client VPS as its own IP, left device type as Linux Server (snmp)
The windows 2003 server (AD Server) security tab set to Public RO / accepts packets from any host.
After adding the 2003 server manually, zenoss finds it. when I try to run modeler it says:

do I have to download snmp custom software Do I have to configure WMI
UPDATE - RESOLVED
I downloaded winrm on my 2003 server box and configured the auth to basic, encryption to none and then ran winrm quickconfig
This works now. thanks

Your device class must have zSnmpMonitorIgnore set to true:
2015-02-20 13:47:09,469 INFO zen.ZenModeler: SNMP monitoring off for dc.cyberwatchers.local
Or there are no SNMP based Modeler Plugins in that device class.

No I checked it is def false. I did not make any config changes to this to make that happen. This is a fresh installation. I did download the Nova.inservicesnmp.egg (latest version) but that didnt seem to help. I did a restart afterwards and attempted another modeler but no dice. Questions do I need more than the default snmp configurations that windows offers to make things show up or the model to work

the WMI message is from an older version of windows monitoring which used WMI, and can be ignored. WMI is now deprecated by Microsoft.
