Why do you want to use ssh? You can simply configure a syslog host to forward events - filtered if you wish - to Zenoss. The zensyslog daemon then processes them and creates events from them. Many common syslog events are already provided as standard Zenoss event classes.

those are specific to syslogs, we want to monitor application logs on the certain Unix servers and trying to find if we have a solution.

Hi.
Try check_logfiles from ConSol Labs.
There is a Parameter "script" and "script_params". I use logger as Script and Log the selected messages from application log to syslog.
Then forwarding the syslog to zenoss.
