Email notification not working

​​My email notification is not working
Zenactiond log:

<class 'socket.gaierror'> - [Errno -2] Name or service not known


My test emails are working fine and smtp settings are correct.
Please help.

Check that the "From Address for Emails" in ADVANCED -> Settings is actually legal.  We have had problems with the mail server rejecting emails from an illegal sender.

Hi Jane,

 

Mail address is legal. Besides. Test mail on users is working fine.

I believe there is an issue with zenactiond as it shows:gaiaerror.

It would be great if you can post traceback or error  content from zenactiond log file, which would help in further investigation.

It is the below. I have deleted the User IDs in the error.

 

ERROR zen.actions: Notification 'Warning_email' FAILED to send emails to set(['USER ID DELETED FOR PRIVACY']): <class 'socket.gaierror'> - [Errno -2] Name or service not known

Hi Mayuke ,

Please check whether the company name of the test mail id test@company.com is resolvable from your zenoss server.
If not try adding the company name and ip in the /etc/hosts and give a try.

Just give a try.
