Hi, Is there an API that allows access to zenoss configuration, such as zproperty settings Right now, I'm reduced to clicking through every single organizer and look for any changes to configuration properties. Tedious, at best. I'm trying to retrace and document changes that a group of admins have made to an instance over the years. What is the community suggesting for such a scenario Some kind of change management process is on the books for going forward, but it doesn't help in retrospect. Zenoss breaks what I consider the standard model of how Unix/Linux software operates - configuration in configuration files, data in data files, all separate. BIND would be a good example. Any suggestions are welcome, including the commercial version, if it has such a feature, or any zenpacks that have escaped my notice. Thanks.

I wrote a ZenPack some time ago that may help -http://wiki.zenoss.org/ZenPack:DeviceReports . It offers a report where you select a specific device and the report gives you lots of configuration "stuff" about that device, including config parameters that are explicit for that device. If you follow the link above and follow to GitHub, you will find a screenshot -https://github.com/jcurry/ZenPacks.skills1st.deviceReports/blob/4.x/screenshots/oneDeviceReport.jpg .

Note in GitHub that you need to be on the 4.x branch to get the latest version of the code.

Cheers,

Jane
