New install to existing CentOS 7 servers

So I am following along in the install docks, and it says to stage the docker images files..

Perform these steps:

  1. In a web browser, navigate to the download site, and then log in.
  2. Download the self-installing Docker image files.
    • install-zenoss-serviced-isvcs-v61.run
    • install-zenoss-isvcs-zookeeper-v10.run
  3. Download the Control Center RPM file.
    • serviced-1.5.0-1.x86_64.rpm

I got the serviced RPM installed, but where the heck do I get the docker image files from step 2.

Please help!

Thanks,
Dan

Dan,
I can send you a sweet document with a step-by-step if you want - I've rebuilt several times to get it just how I like on a CentOS 7 clean install.  In answer to your question, I've found the easiest way to get all the files that work together is to pull them out of the Master ISO you can download from the Community site.

Also, fwiw, we are running 6.1.1 in production, and it's (finally) solid and performing well for us.

No problem; I'm kinda new to this forum - is it ok to post that guide here?  Or should I just email it?

Were you able to retrieve the document I attached to this discussion?

Here's my step-by-step install guide; I gave up on the Master ISO installs and appliance deployments; there always seemed to be some issue or glitch. Using the attached doc, we have a working system in production.  Forgive any mistakes, I typed it up as I went along.  Feel free to beautify.

Followed your step by step and got this..

[root@zenoss-01 firststage]# serviced host add --register zenoss-01<domain-name-was-here>:4979 default
rpc: can't find service Agent.BuildHost

Hmm - I would say do a systemctl restart serviced, followed by systemctl restart docker, then try again.

So does anyone from Zenoss actually read these.  I'm still stuck with this rpc: can't find service Agent.BuildHost when I try to register with serviced.

Thanks,
Dan

Hey Dan; if you want, we could do a remote session some time?

I'm going through this walkthrough right now....but since the system wasn't built with an LVM...and lacks the HD space, I'm gonna wait until I can get some 600Mb SAS drives....

Hello,

If you are familiar with ansible, I can suggest to try sergevs/ansible-serviced-zenoss
The goal of the project is to provide an easy deployment for latest (6.1.2 at now) version of zenoss.

Serge.
