Aging Events

Hello,

I have notifications configured for ICMP  and interfaces going down or up.   I am getting aging event emails from interfaces down event about every four hours.  Does any one know how to configure the systems not to send aging event email?  Under events configuration I can set it "Don't Age This Severity and Above"  but I am unsure this is the best way to go about this...

Thank you,

An email for aging events is not standard.  Have a look under EVENTS -> Triggers.  There must be a Notification there that is sending the emails; a Notification is driven by a Trigger.  You may well have a very widely-drawn trigger that is including this interface down event on emails 0 are you getting lots of other emails that you would really rather not have??

The other way to tackle this is to look in $ZENHOME/log/zenactiond.log - that should show you actions taken by notifications and should also show the notification rule that caused it.

Cheers,
Jane
