Hey everyone,

I had a question regarding monitoring Windows processes in Zenoss 4.2.5. The administration documentation is hard to understand and the only example in there is for monitoring a Linux daemon.

Is it possible to monitor specific Windows processes in the free version of 4.2.5? For example, if we wanted to monitor sqlserver.exe or w3svc.exe, and log how much CPU/RAM are used by said process.

At my old job we used 2.4.5 and I remember seeing a decent amount of processes in the process tab. When I go there in 4.2.5 all I see are mysqld, httpd, and the Zenoss processes. I have modeled devices using SNMP in the /Server/Windows group with SNMP informant installed but do not see any new processes being added to the Infrastructure > Processes tab. The devices in /Server/Microsoft/Windows use WinRM which supposedly can't pull processes at all - is that correct?

Any help would be appreciated!

I was considering installing 5.2 to see how different it is from 4.2.5 but haven't gotten around to it yet. I'm in the process of possibly convincing our IT department to move away from SolarWinds and utilizing the free version of Zenoss core, but there are certain features in SolarWinds (such as Windows process monitoring and live process explorer) that they want to be able to use still.
