Hello all
I have been spending so much time trying to find out how to effectively I can monitor processes in Zenoss core 4.2.5. My sourcess in online search-not necessarily google- are someminimal or too technical to-the level of MIBs- or too old resources as:
http://zenoss.com/blog/2014/04/10/use-process-sets-to-monitor-more-efficiently-and-reduce-monitoring-costs/
https://www.skills-1st.co.uk/papers/jane/process_monitoring.pdf
http://www.nickyeates.com/technology/zenoss/howtos/adding_processes_to_be_monitored
But none clearly hit the mark. As a research, we did install the solarwinds process monitoring solution SAM and within the SNMP v2c env we could get a full status of processes their resouce usage(RAM,CPU,etc, etc) and graphs. I am desperate to find out or get guide from here to where to go and how to configure and appreciate any help
Thanks

H.safe...I just joined Zenoss as the new Community Engineer/Manager. I believe we have some other resources to offer and I will check into those and reply back.
Meantime, be sure to check out the latest version which today is Zenoss Core 5.1.4. I will also be updating the download and instructions page on the Wiki a bit this month so the information flows a better for everyone looking to work with the latest Zenoss Core.
Thank you for posting. Cheers!

jboyle,
I was hoping to get some answers really and it seems that there is a long queue for you :). Let me rephrase to the extent that I am ready to extend a hand to document and prepare a howto for the quesiton I asked if am helped to get over it.
As for the 5.1.4 and the fact of it being in a docker container, Ii is a way too big jump for us. Also reading the realease notes; why is that you guys dropped certain built-in zenpacks like HP in the 5.1.4 Certainly it is a negative mark.
Thanks replying

H.Safe,
Look at the admin doc for Resource Manager.
https://www.zenoss.com/resources/documentation
It will cover adding processes to monitor. By default, cpu, memory, count and up/down will be monitored.
The admin guide also covers a lot of good stuff if you are just starting out.
