Are there any guides or docs (or even suggestions) on how a zenoss 5 installation could be tuned or tweaked to fine tune it for its installation environment

I'm not aware of any guides or docs. It usually falls to the community for those sorts of docs, and not many community members are yet using v5 outside of testing due to some stability and compatibility issues, as well as reported difficulties upgrading within v5. Also, v5 is very different due to Docker, so the back end is not as well known. Have you read the admin guide That's probably a place to start and will have any suggestions Zenoss has themselves. Also, the Zenoss wiki. Finally, if you give some details to us about what the environment is, and why / what you feel needs to be tuned beyond the default config, we might be able to provide some suggestions. Most of the tuning though I think (maybe 40% confidence on this though) is going to reside in Docker land more than Zenoss land - i.e. memory use, network bottlenecks, communication "stuff"... So also maybe look there... James Pulver CLASSE Computer Group Cornell University
