Hello Zenoss community!

I recently installed Zenoss 4.2.5 using the autodeploy script on a CentOS 6.5 machine. I was able to snmpwalk some information off a linux and windows box, such as location and contact information. However, there are no events appearing! The hard drive information and CPU information appears in Zenoss, but when I try to create an event on linux (logger -p) or windows (eventcreate) they do not appear in my Zenoss. I was wondering if you folks had any ideas I have the ZWinPass & User filled out (for windows) and the ZPassword & User (linux) with correct passwords. Thanks for the help.

Hi,

I'd suggest using 'zensendevent' from the command line, and check $ZENHOME/zenactiond.log, $ZEHHOME/zeneventserver.log. I'm assuming you won't see anything. If I'm right please follow the instructions on: http://wiki.zenoss.org/Working_with_Queues. I'm assuming you'll see that the queues are growing, but not being processed. The fix is included there.
If you are seeing it process events please include some logs in your next post so we can figure out what's going on.

I was able to solve this with the Ubuntu version and hydruid's script which installs certain plugins, whereas the auto deploy for CentOS doesn't.
