Hello

Is there any (free) way to monitor core temperature on many servers with different number of cores I found mib LM-SENSORS-MIB which is responsible for providing information regarding to temperature, but I have no idea how to generate some universal monitoring template - servers have different number of cores. Is there any better way of solving this problem than create x data sources (where x = number of cores on server with the biggest number of cores), and delete events regarding bad oid number by transformation (to avoid events from servers with smaller number of cores)

And 2nd question - any idea why on some servers mib snmpwalk exite with:

LM-SENSORS-MIB::lmTempSensorsValue = No Such Instance currently exists at this OID

despite fact that sensors command on this server works correctly

Your issue is probably that many devices do not support the SNMP Management Information Base (MIB) variable that you are asking for (lmTempSensorsValue from the LM-SENSORS-MIB). A "standard" SNMP agent is unlikely to give you this.

You need to check the SNMP MIBs that your servers DO support. Some HP and Dell servers do have extra MIBs that support temperature but you often have to configure an extra SNMP sub-agent.

Check your local server documentation.
