Device is not collecting data and the effected user wants to see how their system components are performing over time. All monitoring templates, graphs, graph settings appear to be set correctly. The master server and others have been restarted many times since this issue began (several months ago) so it does not appear to be with a daemon or collector being hung. Other devices on the same collector are functioning properly

I wonder if someone has changed the collection interval in the template Thaat would stop data collection. Has it EVER collected data for this device

If Zenoss 3 or 4, check for performance data files under $ZENHOME/perf/Devices/ . Depending on how you discovered the device, the last part will either by the name or may be the IP of the device. You should find files ending in .rrd there. There may also be subdirectories - interfaces for example. If you have no rrd files at all then it is an access problem - check with a detailed zenmodeler run as Trelayne suggests.

If you have rrd files but the timestamp suggests that data collection stopped at some stage, simply "hide" a test file - move it to a different name - and if the template is actually active then it should recreate that rrd datafile.

Cheers,

Jane
