I am using Zenoss 4.2.4 and most devices are monitored using WMI. the plans are to upgrade this year to Zenoss 5, I heard that WMI is not suported in Zenoss 5. So my question is does Zenoss 5 support WMI

The short answer is no. Microsoft has discontinued support for WMI. I'm not aware of a microsoft product which isn't EOL that doesn't support WinRM.
