Hello,
I detected an exception on generic plugin zenoss.snmp.InterfaceMap. This plugin shoud poll devices via SNMP and detect if the entry "IfDescr" is duplicated. When IfDescr is duplicated zenoss can not mapping the interface name (ifDescr) from the event console or from any other site Map of zenoss because all interface Name are same on Zenoss DB.
I found the script python that should have the solution: /opt/zenoss/Products/DataCollector/plugins/zenoss/snmp/interfaceAliasMaps.py .
But this script is not applying or not working. Its literal description is: "Extends the standard InterfacMap to use the ifAlias as the interface's name instaead of the ifDescr. This can be useful whn many intefaces on the same device have the same ifDescr"
Any Idea why Zenoss ignore this script or not working this feature
Can I create an workaround to this Can someone help me with an example solution
I'm using Zenoss 5.0.3 with CC 1.0.3.

I would suggest updating to 5.0.9 and trying again.

Currently, the road map is solve the problem on 5.2.0 Zenoss version.
