Hi there

I have been asked to change the hostname of our "ex" zenoss 5 "test server" (it might soon graduate to not being a test :P).

This is a step before getting the SSL certificate (and then i might need help for using that certificate further down up to the zenoss 5 instance, if setting it for control center is not the only step :P).

My "problem", is that i added the host (only one i have, same server) by hostname in the "hosts" section.

I have already changed the server hostname, and added the necesary records in my DNS server.

I did NOT remove the old ones tho, so i can access control center by both names for now.

If i try to add the "new" host, it says it is already present (albeit, with the old name).

Will this break if i remove the old records from the DNS How should i proceed IP remains the same.

Ok, i went and removed the old records, and control center still works, the host with the hostname that now does not resolve to anything is there, and zenoss seems to work, but i see no way to fix the "display issue" :P

inside the zenoss 5 instance in control center, i still see the old hostname for the zenoss.core and other parts tho, and zenping and zenperfsnmp are showing a red exclamation mark.

I guess i must somehow either rename the host or re-add it, but i can't remove it first, cause then i would have no hosts to asign the app to.

Maybe backup the instance, remove zenoos 5 from control center, remove host and add it again and restore backup

EDIT: some more time went by and exclamation marks are gone, just the wrong hostname now.
