Hello everyone

Our Zenoss mysql db is very big. It's more than 300GB on file system. How I can drop, recreate or reduce event database
is it possible I can't find any algorithms for this procedure.

Thanks

Hi:
event retention can be set under Advanced > Collector. For more info on adjusting event retention or clearing older events, consult the Admin guide.

Ok, I know about this settings, but it is not resolving my issue. DB still growing.
1. Can I manually run this process or how I can controlled this operations, that zeneventserver will do
2. Can I remove some rows from event_archive table by SQL query Or may be another instrumentation for do it

I would only delete lines as a last resort, and remember that that won't free disk space until MySQL releases it (Which it generally won't). You're looking for "Delete Archived Events Older Than" to start to reduce this table, but that is not instant. For more information consult Jane Curry's Zenoss Event Management Whitepaper section 2.6.8. http://www.skills-1st.co.uk/papers/jane/zenoss4-events/zenoss_Core4_even...

Checkout http://community.zenoss.org/message/75014#75014 and http://www.nickyeates.com/technology/zenoss/useful_commands_zenoss4 .

Make very sure you have a backup before you go here but they have worked for me.
