Hi Forum,

My Zenoss has all of a sudden become quite ill and seems to be getting worse. I believe this all started from a power outage we had one night a couple of weeks ago which also ran our UPS flat so there was an abrupt halt and not a graceful shutdown.

Symptoms: Lots of POSKeyError messages in event log (every 2 minutes or more) and sometimes on the yellow banner. "unable to connect to the server" pop ups which go away after a second or 2. Web session sometimes logs out while active.

Troubleshooting steps taken: Ran findposkeyerror, zodbscan, & zenrelationscan and all return with no errors. Changed session auth to cookie which allows me to stay logged in. POSKeyErros are sometimes accompanied by Zope.SiteErrorLog events in event log which shows a TypeError of "unsupported operand type(s) for +: 'NoneType' and 'NoneType'", tried finding the meaning of this but have not had any luck.

Other than these issues, Zenoss appears to be functioning normally. Events are triggered and generated as normal, emails are sent, graphs are working etc. Does anyone know what might be causing this or where I could look to determine the issue Version is 4.2.5 running on CentOS 6.6 in a VMware environment.

Appreciate your help.

It may be resolved. I recreated the zodb_session database and so far no POSKeyErros in event log. Will keep an eye on it and report back.

this is one type of poskey error, if they come back run the zenoss.toolkit. Also the latest ZUPs (wiki.zenoss.org/zenup) will help.

good to hear! If you update to the latest 4.2.5 ZUP (available on wiki.zenoss.org in the ZenUp article it should reduce or eliminate poskey errors.
