Hello all,

I'm trying to upgrade from 4.2.3 to 4.2.4 and I'm pretty sure I followed the necessary steps on the documentation correctly but get this error:

# rpm -Uvh zenoss_core-4.2.5-2108.el5.x86_64.rpm
warning: zenoss_core-4.2.5-2108.el5.x86_64.rpm: Header V3 DSA signature: NOKEY, key ID aa5a1ad7
error: Failed dependencies:
libmysqlclient.so.18()(64bit) is needed by zenoss-4.2.5-2108.el5.x86_64

I'm not the best with linux. Any help resolving this issue would be appreciated.

Thanks in advance

Steve

You must install some package with libmysqlclient library at first.
Probably "yum install mysql-libs" resolve your issue or choose one for your OS http://rpmfind.net/linux/rpm2html/search.phpquery=libmysqlclient.so.18&....

I found the documentation on the Zenoss Wiki. http://wiki.zenoss.org/Install_Zenoss the Zenoss Core 4 installation guide. I followed the upgrade instructions beginning on page 16.

Thanks again for any help

You have had/have a problem with step:
4. Download the following Red Hat/Oracle Enterprise Linux (x86, 64-bit) RPM Packages of MySQL Community
Server, version 5.5.31, from mysql.com:
MySQL Server
Client Utilities
Shared components

IMHO: the best option for MySQL is http://wiki.zenoss.org/download/core/mysql/ ; download
MySQL-client-5.5.37-1.linux2.6.x86_64.rpm
MySQL-server-5.5.37-1.linux2.6.x86_64.rpm
MySQL-shared-5.5.37-1.linux2.6.x86_64.rpm

and proceed with next step 6.

Don't forget to backup :-)

Please _DO NOT_ use the MySQL from CentOS, use the official MySQL RPM's that Jan provides above. you may also need to install Redis. I would strongly suggest upgrading to 4.2.5.

Thanks both of you. I did use the versions from MySQL. I'll unload those and install the ones from the link Jan provided. I'll let you know how it goes.

Thanks again
