I need help, i configured the trigger and notifications and it fail when trying to send the email.

What version of Zenoss are you running I ran into an issue similar to this a long time ago. I can tell you with near certainty that your SMTP settings are hosed, or it's trying to use an MTA on localhost that doesn't exist.

=> probably DNS related issue; probably your zenoss is not able to resolve DNS name of your SMTP server

i'm running zenoss v 4.2.4, and is not a DNS issue because i can ping the google smtp server (smtp.gmail.com)
here is my smtp configuration
Instance identifier: Zenoss
SMTP Host: smtp.gmail.com
SMTP Port : 587
SMTP Username: email@telenord.com.do
SMTP Password:
From Address for Emails: email@telenord.com.do
Use TLS: yes
Page Command: $ZENHOME/bin/zensnpp localhost 444 $RECIPIENT

i installed postfix, do i have to make some kind of configurations i'm new with smtp servers configurations so i'd apreciate the help

no, emailping is a zenpack which checks to see if an e-mail server is functional by sending and then checking e-mail. If you start postfix on the local box and still get a connection refused, or dns error let me know.

How did you solve this issue From zenoss server I am able to send emails to me using telnet, but using zenoss nothing happens.
I need some help!
